On 30th June due to heavy storms following the heat wave, water and mudslide covered the tracks at Modane station causing an international disruption on the line MODANE-TORINO.
According to SNCF Réseau forecast:
The restoration of the tracks and switches is currently ongoing.
As a first step, the re-opening of one or two tracks is expected by Saturday 5th July. From then passenger trains and freight trains using interoperable locomotives can operate with speed restrictions. Update on the available capacity is expected on Friday 4th July. The re-opening of freight tracks for trains that require locomotive change is expected by mid-July, based on the current forecast.
