Capacity Regulation published in the Official Journal

The new regulation establishes a new framework for railway capacity management across the EU, aiming to improve the planning, allocation, and coordination of rail infrastructure capacity. It introduces common procedures and digital tools to support more efficient cross-border rail operations, enhance transparency, and make better use of available network capacity. In addition, the regulation amends the Directive 2012/34/EU to align existing railway market rules with the new capacity management framework, and repeals Regulation (EU) No 913/2010 with effect from 14 December 2030.
